The trailer for the Turner & Hooch spinoff is finally here, and we can’t contain our excitement!
Based off the iconic 1989 film of the same name that starred Tom Hanks, the made-for-TV series follows an ambitious, buttoned-up US Marshal who inherits a big unruly dog that may be the partner he really needs.
Starring Josh Peck as Scott Turner, son of Detective Scott Turner (Hanks), the Disney+ original fast forwards three decades. In the trailer that you can watch below, there’s a knock on young Scott’s door, and suddenly Junior has himself a giant, drooling French mastiff. “Your father wanted you to have Hooch,” his mom tells him. “He rescued him from the shelter. He said it was almost like the original Hooch came back.”
Chaos begins immediately as Hooch II begins to destroy his new apartment then is an expected ride-along on a pursuit that ends, well, in chaos. Enter Erica Mouniere (played by Vanessa Lengies), the quirky head of the U.S. Marshals dog training program. That’s when Scott realizes the dog “behaves for everyone but [him].”
The series also stars Carra Patterson as Jessica Baxter, Scott’s brave, street-smart partner; Brandon Jay McLaren as Xavier Wilson, a cool, enigmatic marine-turned-US Marshal; Anthony Ruivivar as Chief James Mendez, Scott’s boss with a secret soft spot for Scott’s new dog, Hooch; Lyndsy Fonseca as Laura Turner, Scott’s sweet, animal-loving sister; Jeremy Maguire as Matthew Garland, Laura’s dog-loving son; and Vanessa Lengies as Erica Mouniere, the quirky head of the US Marshals dog training program.
Becca Tobin recurs as Brooke, Scott’s former flame; and Reginald VelJohnson reprises his role as Mayor David Sutton. Five French Mastiffs also star as Hooch, Scott’s slobbery, lovable French Mastiff.
Turner & Hooch drops new episodes on Disney+ beginning Wednesday, July 21st. Let us know if you’re excited by either leaving a reaction at the bottom of the post or by sending us a tweet at @celebsecrets.
