Disney Tapped to Remix Princess Classics with “Disney Princess Remixed – An Ultimate Princess Celebration” TV Special

No matter how old we get, our love for Disney princesses will never die. Each heroine is courageous, kind and inspiring, and Disney Channel just dropped the news that they will let us embrace our inner princess with a new TV special later this summer

In correspondence with World Princess Week, the network will debut an original music special, Disney Princess Remixed – An Ultimate Princess Celebration later this summer. The magical event — which will air on Friday, August 27th @ 7:30PM ET/PT — is executive produced by Emmy Award-winning team NappyTabs of World of Dance and So You Think You Can Dance

Just like a classic fairytale, the half-hour special will be narrated by 12-year-old social media superstar Txunamy Ortiz and will honor the empowering qualities of Disney princesses and queens through reinterpreted performances of legendary tunes.

It will also feature our favorite Disney stars Dara Reneé, Frankie Rodriguez, Julia Lester (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series), Izabela Rose (Secrets of Sulphur Springs), Ruth Righi (Sydney to the Max) and Sophia Hammons (Under Wraps), who will be performing pop, rock and R&B remixes of “Into the Unknown” from Frozen 2, “Home” from Beauty and the Beast, “Almost There” from Princess and the Frog and “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid

In addition, GRAMMY Award-winning singer and former Cinderella herself, Brandy, will debut the music video for “Starting Now,” which is the anthem for Disney’s year-long “Ultimate Princess Celebration.” and Walt Disney Records will release three singles, including “Into the Unknown (Disney Princess Remixed)” on August 13, with two additional singles that will be available August 27.

“Disney Princess Remixed – An Ultimate Princess Celebration,” premieres Friday, August 27 @ 7:30PM ET/PT on Disney Channel and select markets on Disney+ the same day. The network will also air special presentations of Disney classics Tangled and Frozen, beginning at 4:05PM ET/PT and 5:45PM ET/PT, respectively, followed by a new princess-themed episode of Disney’s Magic Bake-Off at 8PM ET/PT.

Make sure to grab your gowns and tiaras and brush up on your favorite Disney lyrics because this night will for sure be a star-studded ball!
