BOW DOWN! Doechii is officially Billboard’s 2025 Woman of the Year, and we couldn’t be more here for it! From tearing up stages worldwide to making Grammy history, the swamp princess turned global superstar has been serving talent, vision, and sheer domination — and now she’s taking her rightful throne at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music Awards on March 29 at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, CA.
Hosted by the ever-iconic Laverne Cox, the star-studded event will honor the fiercest women in music, with performances, tributes, and all the major girlboss energy we crave. And let’s be real — Doechii snatching the biggest title of the night? That’s exactly the moment we were waiting for.
Let’s not forget, Doechii was Billboard’s Rising Star just two years ago, and now she’s joining an elite club of game-changers like Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, and SZA as Woman of the Year. And when you look at the year she just had? The upgrade is fully deserved.
She dominated 2024 with her genre-bending album Alligator Bites Never Heal, racked up critical acclaim, and had even Kendrick Lamar calling her “the hardest out.” She brought choreo and a 10-piece band to Tiny Desk, sold out a US/UK/EU tour, shut down the GRAMMYs, and made her acting debut in an A24 film (because, of course, she did).
From hip-hop to house, R&B to pop, Doechii has proven she can do it all—and she does it all flawlessly.

Doechii isn’t the only queen getting her flowers at Billboard Women in Music 2025. The event will also celebrate major girlbosses like aespa (Group of the Year), Erykah Badu (Icon Award), Gracie Abrams (Songwriter of the Year), Jennie (Global Force Award), and GloRilla (Powerhouse Award) — plus performances from Megan Moroney, Muni Long, Tyla, and more.
Also? Becky G and Suki Waterhouse will be presenting, alongside Kali Uchis, Madison Beer, Summer Walker, and Mickey Guyton — so yeah, expect the most gorgeous, talented, and unbothered women in the room to be running the whole night.
The 2025 Billboard Women in Music Awards will stream LIVE on VIZIO WatchFree+ at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET. If you’re lucky enough to be in LA, tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com, starting at $89.
Trust us — you’re gonna want to witness history in the making, as Doechii season is officially in full effect.
