Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill Plans to Retire After 2025 Season

Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill has revealed that he plans to retire after the 2025 season.

In an appearance on Sports Radio 810 WHB in Kansas City on Wednesday (April 5), the All-Pro wideout said he wants to finish out his current contract with Miami and then move on to other endeavors.

“I’m going for 10, man,” Hill said in reference to 10 career seasons. “I’m gonna finish out this contract with the Dolphins and then I’m gonna call it quits. I want to go into the business side. I want to do so many things in my life, bro.”

The 29-year-old Hill has been a Pro Bowler for every season of his seven-year NFL career and a first-team All-Pro for four of those years. He won Super Bowl LIV with the Chiefs and is widely considered one of the fastest, most exciting players in the league, coming off a career-best year with 119 catches for 1,710 yards. He’ll only be 31 when he says he plans to hang up the cleats.

When Hill got traded to Miami last offseason, he signed a four-year, $120 million extension that expires in 2026, but he has an opt-out clause in 2025 that will likely be used based on his comments on Wednesday. The Dolphins would also avoid a $56.3 million cap hit if they release him in that final season.

Hill is also an avid Twitch streamer and says he hopes to venture further into the gaming world once he leaves football.

“So I really want to get into like the gaming space. I really want to get huge in that and that’s kind of what I’m doing right now,” Hill said. “I’m using my platform, creating a gaming team, which isn’t launched yet. It should launch by the end of this month. I’m gonna just sign like different content creators, different athletes. I just been working that, talking to different sponsors.”

Hill also talked about facing his former team, as the Dolphins will travel to Kansas City this upcoming season. While the date is unknown as of now, Hill says that his trademark peace sign celebration will be making an appearance when the two teams do face off.

“Chiefs Kingdom, when the Miami Dolphins come to Arrowhead Stadium this year, guess what we gonna do?” Hill said. “Guess what we gonna do? I hate to say it, man. I hate to throw up the peace sign against y’all. I hate to do it! But guess what? I’m gonna be y’all worst enemy that day. I’m gonna be y’all worst enemy that day.”
