While we encourage you to hold your breath, there’s nothing scary about this. Drake debuted at number one on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart — and number two… and number three!
That’s right. Drake’s latest music drop, Scary Hours 2, had mad chart history by earning the Toronto rapper the title of the first artist in history to ever debut three tracks simultaneously in the Top 3 of Billboard’s chart.
“What’s Next” claimed the No. 1 spot, which comes as no surprise since it dropped a bit unexpectedly. “Wants and Needs” with Lil Baby and “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” with Rick Ross respectfully claimed their thrones at No. 2 and No. 3, making Drake’s three-song project quite historic.

.@Drake becomes the first artist in history to debut at Nos. 1, 2 and 3 on the #Hot100 in the same week:

Drake breaking records isn’t something new.
Just last summer, he found himself holding the title for most top 10 hits in Billboard history. A title that Madonna previously held with 38 entries, but the rapper later beat with his 39th and 40th entries. He also earned the title of most Hot 100 entries of all time with a whopping 228 entries, now 231 with his latest releases.
Of course, this isn’t the first time that an artist has held the top three spots on the chart. Back in 2019, Ariana Grande held the title with “thank u, next,” “7 rings,” and “breakup with your girlfriend, i’m bored,” making her the first artist to do so since The Beatles in 1964.
It’s not something easy to achieve, especially during a time where the music industry is so competitive and relies so heavily on streaming numbers.
Nevertheless, Drake and his project, Scary Hours 2 has given us a sneak peek at how the rest of the year is going to look for him. Especially when he still has to release his long-awaited album Certified Lover Boy.
