“Not Emotional”
“I wrote ‘Not Emotional’ with a writer named Hoops. I think our biggest inspiration behind writing the record is also the biggest take-away when listening to it: it is not selfish to put yourself first,” Gabi says.
She continues, “I have always been a person who enjoys my independence and doing things as I please. I don’t like being controlled by a man or anyone for that matter. It breaks my heart to see such free-spirited people, so confined because someone else is holding them back from their full potential.”
Adding, “I’m 20 years old— I want to live a little. I want to do something because it makes me happy. You have to be able to love yourself first. Then, when the time is right, someone who really loves you will embrace those parts of you and enhance that confidence. If they don’t, they’re not the right someone.”
