Getting to Know Eves Karydas: From Touring with Dua Lipa to Her New Infectious Sound

A new era is underway for Brisbane-based singer-songwriter Eves Karydas.

After almost two years since the release of her debut album, summerskin, Eves is back with a new sound that will leave your hearts broken open and ears wanting more. Releasing her comeback single “Complicated” back in June, which she says turned her anxiety into an anthem of hope, the Aussie recording artist returns with another earworm titled “Get Me So High,” which is out now on all streaming platforms.

Serving yet another display of Karydas’ knack for to-the-point, confessional lyricism, the song is about being hooked on a relationship despite the turmoil it may bring. Penned in Stockholm alongside pals Madelene Eliasson and Amanda Cygnaeus, the track is paired with an Onil Kotian directed video.

Speaking of the track, Karydas shares: “Someone once said to me, ‘being in love is like being given drugs for free.’ At the time I was experiencing a real lack of security in the relationship I was in. I was constantly on edge and allowing the other person to dictate whether my mood was up or down. It left me feeling so unhinged. The annoying part of it all was that no matter how many lows and red flags there were, I was addicted to the highs. It clouded my vision. I like to joke that this song is what you get when three girls in their twenties sit in a room together talking about their disastrous love lives.”

You may know Karydas from her touring days with Dua Lipa and George Ezra, but we at Celeb Secrets can assure you will soon know her for far more in the near future. With a fresh new sound to kick off the decade, Eves is on the rise and will launch into stardom real soon.
