Getting to Know Sammi Corona-Lampa: A Young Actress with a Bright Future (Q&A)

Celeb Secrets has always had a knack for discovering the stars of tomorrow, and we’re proud to say that Sammi Corona-Lampa has officially been added to our list of talent that’s set for a bright future.

At only 3 years old, Sammi first got her start as a competitive clothing model and stage performer through a well-established and prestigious pageant system. In six months time, she was able to win the California local and state level crowns consecutively for her age division, which led her to advance to her first world level competition.

Fast forward to her third year of her professional career, and she has built a diverse portfolio of work, ranging from commercials and various child-targeted digital series episodes to making her film debut in the romcom In Other Words, which released back in September.

Crediting JoJo Siwa as one of her biggest inspirations, Celeb Secrets sits down with the young entertainer to learn more about her budding career, why she looks up to someone like JoJo, and what we can expect from her in 2021.

You can follow Sammi on Instagram at @sammi_corona_lampa_official.

Celeb Secrets: What initially sparked an interest to become an entertainer?

Sammi Corona-Lampa: “Before I started acting, I really loved watching all of the actors and actresses in movies and on TV. I wanted to be just like them.  I couldn’t have done it without my Mommy and Daddy. They helped me with lessons and everything I needed to do.”

CS: Who do you draw inspiration from? We’ve seen you really have a love for the singer Selena, is there anyone else you really admire?

SCL: “I really admire Jojo Siwa.  We have a lot in common.  I love her music, bows and fashion accessories. She loves rainbows, glitter and unicorns just like me.  She has taught me to always be kind to others and to stand up to bullies and haters and to be a brave and strong girl who believes in her dreams.”

CS: You recently starred in a movie alongside Bryan McClure and Edy Ganem in “In Other Words.” What was this experience like? Can you tell us more about it and your character?

SCL: “They are both so much fun to work with.  They made my first movie experience amazing and cool and we had lots of silly fun.  The movie is a romantic comedy and very funny and fun to watch.  My character (Amalia) is bossy, but nice, smart and likes to joke around.  Edy Ganem plays my mom and Bryan McClure is her nerdy, crazy and nervous friend.”

CS: What was your favorite memory from filming on set? Is there anything else you may have learned from spending time with the cast?

SCL: “My favorite memory from filming on set was the scene where I had to kick Bryan McClure. I think I kicked him a little too hard, but his reaction was perfect! I learned to be kind and to respect other actors you work with, even if they are just starting out in Hollywood.”

CS: Aside from acting, you also have an interest in singing, do you prefer to act or sing? Or do you enjoy both equally?

SCL: “I enjoy both equally because it is my dream to become a triple threat.”

Do you have any upcoming projects we can look out for in the new year?

SCL: “I’m currently filming a new movie called Divorce Bait.  It is a comedy.  I play the young daughter of the main characters in the movie.  I play a little girl whose emotions are sometimes sad, angry and confused because her parents are going through a divorce.”

CS: Since we are Celeb Secrets, do you have any secrets or fun facts about yourself that fans may not know about you?

SCL: “I love to draw and I also love to watch art tutorials to sharpen my skills.  I also love to create clothing designs.”
