The New York Giants have added an excellent weapon for their QB, Daniel Jones, as the team signed speedy wide receiver Parris Campbell to a one-year $4.7 million contract. Campbell is coming off his best season to date, as he had career-highs in receptions, yards, and touchdowns.

The Giants were among the most surprising teams in the league last season, even with an underwhelming cast of characters at the wide receiver position. The team has brought in some ammunition with former Colts wideout Parris Campbell. Campbell spent the first four seasons of his career in Indy. Last season Campbell caught 63 catches for 623 yards and three touchdowns. Before last season, Campbell had battled multiple injuries and thus could not play consistently in his first three seasons.
It is surprising that Indy would give up on him after he had his best season, but they were likely, not comfortable locking him down due to his prior injury experience.
Campbell will provide much speed from the slot and be able to play on the outside occasionally. Campbell’s speed will also allow the Giants to use him in other ways, such as running the ball. Currently, the Giants have added long-time Raiders tight end Darren Waller and Campbell while also bringing back veteran wideout Darius Slayton.

This is a high reward-low risk situation for both sides, and it will be interesting to see how Brian Daboll plans to use Campbell.
