Expecto Patronum! The Harry Potter cast is back to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
The Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts will celebrate the legacy and impact of the Harry Potter film franchise. It’s set to premiere January 1, streaming on HBO Max.
The very first movie, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, was released back in November 2001 in theaters. The streaming service announced that “the retrospective special Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts will tell an enchanting making-of story through all-new in-depth interviews and cast conversations, inviting fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time.”
The original trio, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson will join original director, Chris Columbus to reminisce on the first film. Other guests include Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Imelda Staunton, Tom Felton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Mark Willims, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch, and Ian Hart.
Watson took to Instagram to share her gratitude towards her cast-mates and the many fans of the franchise. “I am proud not just of what we as group contributed as actors to the franchise but also as the children that became young adults that walked that path,” Watson said. “Thank you to the fans that have continued to show their support well after the last chapter closed.”
