Get ready to head back to Westeros, because the first trailer for the highly anticipated HBO Max show, House of the Dragon, has officially been released!
The action-packed trailer gives fans a new look at what they can expect from the prequel series to HBO’s hit show, Game of Thrones. House of the Dragon is based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood” series and the prequel will take focus on House Targaryen.
In the trailer, fans will hear familiar house names including: Stark, Baratheon, and Velaryon. We see all these houses pledge their allegiance to King Viserys Targaryen (Paddy Considine). The trailer also shows Viserys announcing his daughter, Princess Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) as heir to the throne. However, it seems that not a lot of people agree with the decision because she is a woman. The trailer then shows a series of action-filled scenes and of course leaves fans in suspense when it ends with a shot of a dragon breathing fire!
HBO didn’t stop there, and they also released a series of character posters to give fans a better look at the exciting new cast! Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, and so many more are featured in the new set of posters!
Fans can start streaming the series exclusively on HBO Max when it debuts on August 21st.
