Heath Ledger’s Family Speak Out About Possible Biopic – Get The Full Story!

Kim Ledger, Heath Ledger’s father, has recently spoken out about the emotional heartache that he and his relatives still suffer from due to Heath’s untimely death and how they aren’t too fond about the whole “biopic” idea, simply out of respect for Heath’s privacy. But they also hinted that they’re not completely opposed to it.

Kim tells The Daily Telegraph that he is still “pretty sensitive” talking about anything regarding his son’s sudden death and how the media’s interest in it was “a little difficult” to handle. The 66-year-old then said that the biopic of Heath Ledger “could happen,” but only when the time is right, and he doesn’t believe it is just yet.

“Heath was a pretty quiet individual so [a biopic] is not something we’d really be interest in participating in. I have no doubt somebody will do something one day, but when the timing for that is right, I don’t know when that will be.” -Kim Ledger

Kim has been dedicated to keeping his son’s death just as private as the way Heath kept his life, so although a biographical film would be mind-blowing, it makes perfect sense as to why the idea hasn’t been put into motion.

Heath Ledger and Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the movie “10 Things I Hate About You.”

But if the time ever becomes right, the real question is: what actor can truly do Ledger justice? In my personal opinion, I would love to see Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy, Pacific Rim), Leonardo Dicaprio (The Revenant) or Joseph Gordon Levitt (Inception, Don Jon) take on the role. Not only do these incredible actors have a slight resemblance to the Brokeback Mountain star, but they’re also known for always putting their all into their characters, just like Heath did.

Heath Ledger would have been 37 today.
