Sebastián Yatra Collabs with John Legend For New Song “Tacones Rojos”(Listen)

Sebastián Yatra is teaming up with John Legend for the ultimate collaboration!

surprised fans by adding a bilingual tune to his number 1 hit song, “Tacones Rojos.”

The Colombian multi-platinum singer/songwriter surprised fans earlier this week when he added a bilingual version of his No. 1 hit “Tacones Rojos.” Featured on his latest project, Dharma, “Tacones Rojos” unites two powerful languages and celebrates two different cultures, as each singer puts their own twist to the song.

The music video, which you can see below, was filmed in Los Angeles. In the clip, Yatra leaves his new love interest’s home and greets her neighbor, John Legend. Legend welcomes Yatra into his home, where they enjoy a cup of coffee, and chat all day about the girl in the tacones rojos, aka “red high heels.”

“’Tacones Rojos’ has such a beautiful sunny vibe. It’s about meeting someone new who brings love, light, and wonder into your life,” John Legend shared in a press statement. “I love that energy and that we were able to create something new together for this lovely song.”

Sebastián Yatra added, “It has the happiness of the original, but for me, it’s a brand new song. It sounds like it was born this way. It was meant to be with John’s voice on it with me.”

“Tacones Rojos” has been receiving positive feedback since its initial release, as its become a viral sensation on TikTok’s Top 10 in the United States along with Spotify’s Top 50 Global, concluding more than 505 Million streams. Even the talented Legend agreed the feel-good song was meant to become a hitmaker, with the bilingual remix enabling it to resonate with even more listeners worldwide.

“It was already such an amazing track but this was the first time I’ve tried to translate a Spanish song into English. It’s not as simple as a word-for-word conversion. You have to translate the sentiment, but re-shape and massage the language flows so that it flows naturally and feels like an original song in English,” Legend continues in the press release. “That was my challenge and I had so much fun doing it.”

This is not the first time Yatra has been celebrating the success of his music. Sebstián is set to perform his Oscar-nominated song, Dos Oruguitas,” from the film, Encanto at the 94th Academy Awards tomorrow (March 27), hit major cities in the United States and Canada for his Dharma Tour later this year, star in Netflix’s new Spanish-language musical, Érase Una Vez Pero Ya No (Once Upon a Time…Happily Never After) and participate in the 2022 Latin AMAs, where he is up for 5 nominations.
