Kevin Garrett Puts His Own Twist on *NSYNC’s Classic “It’s Gonna Be Me” on May 1st

Kevin Garrett is fully embracing that its May 1st!

The Pittsburgh-bred singer/songwriter took the infamous Internet meme of *NSYNC‘s 2000 smash and Justin Timberlake‘s misheard line from “It’s Gonna Be Me” and gave made it his own.

Garrett’s version does indeed rival the original, as it starts with a slow tempo, highlighting his soulful voice over a piano, then eventually bringing the tempo back up towards the end of the song, reminiscent of the original pop beat.

Kevin said on how the cover came about, “I was stuck with a friend at their place in LA and it was No Strings Attached’s 20th anniversary and I remembered how much I loved this album. So when I finally got back home I made this cover in my kitchen. It was fun to try to reimagine it a little bit.
