Here’s the Secret to Nailing Your Pro Cheer and Dance Auditions with Pro Dance Prep

Earning a coveted spot on the sidelines for a professional cheer/dance team takes more than just talent. With audition season in full swing, the journey to athletic, technical, and aesthetic training begins with pinpointing areas specific to the team and organization you are auditioning for, and Pro Dance Prep does exactly that to help fully prepare you for every aspect of scoring.

Celeb Secrets took a dive into the glitz and glam of the pro cheer and dance world, uncovering the hard work, conditioning, and character development it really takes to make the squad.

The competition is fierce, so we sat down with Katie Ann, owner and national director of PDP, three-time NFL Cheerleader for the Miami Dolphins (Covergirl 2018, Captain/Veteran of the Year 2019), NBA Dancer for the Chicago Bulls, New York University Tisch School of the Arts Alumna, and NASM Certified Personal Trainer to learn more about how you can gain PDP’s unique edge and confidence that will be sure to catch the judges’ eyes at your next audition!

Take a read at the full Q&A below; you can stay up to date with audition clinics, promos, and pro tips and tricks by giving PDP a follow at @prodanceprep_.

Celeb Secrets: What is Pro Dance Prep?

Katie Ann: “Pro Dance Prep is the leader in pro audition training. We are a consulting agency that connects cheer and dance hopefuls to current or former professional cheerleaders and dancers to help them prepare for auditions each season. We guide our clients through the process of training for NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB professional auditions.”

CS: What makes Pro Dance Prep different then any other program trying to do something similar?

KA: “Pro Dance Prep was created and founded by an NFL Coach, Natalie Chernow. She began this company before she knew she’d become one of the best in the pro cheer/dance world. Our prepping curriculum was developed by someone who knows exactly what she’s looking for from a team member. This has led our program and our dancers to have the success it does. We are one of the first pro dance prepping companies that was created and due to our foundation, trademarked curriculum and experience, we’ve been fortunate to help so many dancers make their dream teams.”

CS: How does Pro Dance Prep work?

KA: “Pro cheer and dance hopefuls will submit a request. They can do this through our IG page link @prodanceprep_or directly through our website www.prodanceprep.com. Once their request is submitted, they will receive an email from PDP within 24-48 hours matching them with a PrepMaster most suited to their audition needs. Our PrepMasters will then reach out via text to begin scheduling days and times to train that work best for the client. The majority of our clients prep virtually, however, in-person can be an option as well. We currently have a total of 16 PrepMasters who are eager to share their vast knowledge and experiences with you.”

CS: What are some things a client can expect to work on with their PrepMaster?

KA: “Each of our PrepMasters has their own style to how they prep their pro hopefuls. However, with our PDP Curriculum you can expect to cover areas such as: interview portion, performance solo, freestyle practice, makeup and hair tips, audition outfit selection, kick-line technique (if applicable), flexibility training, choreography catered to the style of your chosen team, and more.”
