iCarly has been renewed for a second season at Paramount+, and we can’t contain our excitement!
Sources close to Celeb Secrets confirmed that new episodes have been ordered for the streaming service. According to Variety, production is set to begin this coming fall.
The former Nickelodeon show follows online star, Carly Shay (Miranda Cosgrove) as she navigates the world in her twenties. She lives in an apartment in Seattle with her friend, Harper Raines (Laci Mosley), who works as a barista at a local coffee shop.
Carly’s childhood best friend, Freddie Benson (Nathan Kress), lives with his mother and adopted stepdaughter, Millicent (Jaidyn Triplett). Carly’s older brother, Spencer (Jerry Trainor), works as a professional artist and resides in the same apartment from the original show. Carly receives assistance from her loved ones throughout the series as she revives her former web show, iCarly.
Nickelodeon President and CEO, Brian Robbins recently spoke out about iCarly’s success in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. Robbins talked about how the plans for the reboot came to fruition. When they licensed two seasons of the show to Netflix, they already had plans solidified for the revival.
After the show premiered on Netflix, they saw an eruption of both new viewers and former fans tuning in. He said, “The demand for the new show was at such a fever pitch by the time [the new show] launched that it propelled iCarly to be, if not the most successful show on Paramount+, one of the most successful shows.”
