Jack Harlow opened the 2022 MTV VMAs in the most LEGENDARY way possible. The top nominee and emcee brought out Fergie to sing the hook on his hit single, “First Class!”
Fergie was the perfect surprise for fans since the Billboard Hot 100 hit features the former Black Eyed Peas star’s 2006 song, “Glamorous.” At the beginning of the performance, Harlow had celebrities like Lil Nas X, Avril Lavigne, Becky G, Jimmy Fallon, Chloe Bailey, and Saucy Santana seated onboard an airplane as he performed down the aisle dressed as a flight attendant.

Jack then took over the main stage, stepping off his flight to continue singing as Fergie joined in on the performance.
“Glamourous” heavily influenced the instrumental beat and chorus of “First Class” and is a single on Fergie’s 2006 album, The Dutchess, a song that helped define Fergie’s career.
When it comes to getting Fergie’s approval on “First Class,” Jack dished on what the songstress thought about his successful single in April, telling Extra, “I heard through the grapevine that she loved it. But I love Fergie; I’ve loved her for years. To me, it wasn’t just like an opportunist type of energy… I’ve been waiting to do that. People don’t know when I was in fifth grade, I tried to perform Fergalicious at the talent show, and they said no because it was too explicit. I’ve loved Fergie for that long.”
This isn’t the first time Harlow has pulled out all the stops by bringing out surprise guests during his performances.
After going viral for not knowing who r&b singer Brandy is in May during his Hot 97 appearance, the artist rebounded, later bringing out the r&b queen to perform a freestyle on “First Class” for the BET Awards in June.
