This morning, JAMES BAY received 2016 Grammy Award® nominations in top categories, including “Best New Artist,” “Best Rock Album” for his worldwide #1 debut Chaos and the Calm [Republic Records], and “Best Rock Song” for the breakout hit “Hold Back The River.” This marks JAMES BAY’s first nod from the Recording Academy, adding to his already growing list of accolades this year.
The 2016 Grammy Awards® will be broadcast live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles Monday February 15, 2016 on CBS 8-11:30pm ET.
In addition, BAY’s “Hold Back The River” and “Let It Go” were both recently certified Gold by the RIAA for sales in excess of 500,000 digital downloads. Chaos and the Calm is the “Biggest New Artist Album Release This Year” in the UK and has been certified Gold in Australia & Switzerland, Platinum in the UK and has sold one over million albums worldwide.
After receiving the BRIT’s Critics Choice award for 2015, BAY has gone on to receive a win for “Best New Act” at the Q Awards and was nominated for “Best New” and “Best PUSH” at the MTV EMA and a MTV VMA for “Best New Act” On the other side of the globe, he received a nod for “Best International Artist” at the ARIA Awards in Australia.
The nominations arrive on the heels of JAMES BAY finishing up his headline US tour where he performed across the country, ending what has been a year of rockstar performances at large stages as well as television including Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Late Show with James Corden, The Today Show, Live with Kelly and Michael, and VH1’s You Oughta Know Concert.
