We’re only a few days away from the GRAMMY Awards and ESSENCE kicked off the weekend in a big way! The number one media company for African-American women held it’s 9th annual Black Women In Music event. This year the event celebrated the accomplishments of four-time GRAMMY winner Missy Elliott.
The event was held at New York City’s Highline Ballroom and included performances from Rapsody¸ whose album Laila’s Wisdom is nominated for 2 GRAMMY Awards, and recording artist Leikeli47. Other attendees included Danielle Brooks, Ty Hunter, MAJOR, Justine Skye, Janelle Monae, T.I., Tank, Fabolous and more – who were all their to celebrate their friend and music icon Missy Elliott.
