Jenna Ortega Has Deactivated Her Twitter After Receiving Backlash For Reaffirming Her Friendship with Percy Hynes White

Jenna Ortega has deactivated her Twitter account.

While the actress has not given an official explanation for her decision to stop using social media, some fans are speculating that it may be due to the criticism she has received for a number of comments she made in an interview she gave on Dax Shepard’s podcast Armchair Expert.

Percy Hynes White, the co-star of Wednesday who was accused of sexual assault and using racial slurs earlier this year, was a subject of conversation between her and the interviewer. Of course, this is just conjecture, but it may be the reason Ortega deleted her Twitter. And yet, her supporters blasted her with criticism over the association as soon as they saw it.

On the podcast she even referred to Percy as one of her closest buddies. She described their strong relationship, mentioning in particular Percy and Georgie Farmer who shared the same apartment complex with her.

“We mothered each other, so whenever someone was busier, like going through something, we were there,” said the Scream VI star.

Another speculation regarding her Twitter deactivation is her admission of acting “unprofessionally” on the set of Wednesday by modifying elements of the screenplay that she claimed didn’t “make sense” as it drew another wave of criticism.

“I don’t think I’ve ever had to put my foot down more on a set in a way that I had to on Wednesday,” Ortega said. “Everything that Wednesday does, everything I had to play, did not make sense for her character at all.” She added “There were times on that set where I even became almost unprofessional in a sense where I just started changing lines.”

The X star is clearly a talented actress that will make her stance in the art she believes in. After all it was her voice that has helped guide the hit show into becoming the second most watched Netflix series and the attention it has brought her seems to be intense at times.
