Jonathan Majors is claiming his innocence following a recent domestic violence arrest in New York City this past weekend.
According to an NYPD spokesperson, the Creed III actor was detained on Saturday (March 25) after police reacted to a 911 call coming from an apartment in New York City.
“A preliminary investigation determined that a 33-year-old male was involved in a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old female,” the spokesperson said. “The victim informed police she was assaulted. Officers placed the 33-year-old male into custody without incident. The victim sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was removed to an area hospital in stable condition.”

Charges against Majors include harassment and assault — although after the incident, the actor’s criminal defense attorney Priya Chaudhry asserted that Majors is innocent of these accusations.
“Jonathan Majors is completely innocent and is provably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows,” Chaudhry said in a March 26 statement. “We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently.”
According to Chaudhry, their supporting documentation consists of two written declarations from the purported victim retracting the claims, video footage from the car where the alleged incident occurred, and eyewitness accounts from the driver and others who were present.
“All the evidence proves that Mr. Majors is entirely innocent and did not assault her whatsoever,” Chaudhry added. “Unfortunately, this incident came about because this woman was having an emotional crisis, for which she was taken to a hospital yesterday. The NYPD is required to make an arrest in these situations, and this is the only reason Mr. Majors was arrested. We expect these charges to be dropped soon.”

Majors’ rep voiced a similar message on the actor’s alleged innocence stating, “he has done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up.”
