Kamie Crawford Teases All the Love-Filled Drama and Steamy Romances Viewers Will Get to See on New Season of “Are You The One?” (Exclusive)

Even though the cold weather is currently blaring through the US, Paramount+ is making sure to bring the heat with an all-new season of their hit reality dating series Are You The One?.

Hosted by the one and only Kamie Crawford, the series — which premiered on January 18 on the streaming giant — follows 22 of the hottest singles from around the world as they try to find “the one.”

After breaking barriers by being the first sexually fluid dating competition show in the US last season, Are You The One? is setting the bar even higher this year by crossing borders for the first time in franchise history. Filming in Gran Canaria, Spain, the new location encourages the contestants to leave their past behind and find their future in one of the many international finalists who are also looking for their forever person.

When speaking with Celeb Secrets reporter Ilana Epstein during a virtual press junket, Crawford says going international brings an important new aspect that makes the show different from other reality dating programs on the market right now.

“Love will travel,” Kamie said. “The [international aspect] shows us how we are so alike to people even if they are so far away.”

Each week, the singles have an opportunity to find their match, and if they can identify all 11 perfect matches at the same time, they’ll split a massive cash prize. If contestants go into the “truth booth” and see that they aren’t a “perfect match,” they are encouraged to keep meeting new contestants. However, if they stay in those past relationships, the whole house loses $250,000.

When teasing what viewers can expect from this format, Kamie said that not everyone is able to follow the rules, as one person wound up hooking up with two different contestants in the same night. While its difficult to see if each contestant is there for the right reasons, Kamie says that while everyone is aiming for love, “money is there” for people to obtain.

“People are taking time away from jobs, families, and friends to travel and find the one,” she shared.
