Kathy Hilton is revealing the secret to her decades-long marriage to Hilton & Hyland chairman and co-founder Rick Hilton.
The 64-year-old fashion designer and reality television personality star was in good spirits at her annual holiday party, DIRECTV Celebrates Christmas At Kathy’s, in Bel Air, California, and dished on her blossoming relationship with half sisters, fellow Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-stars Kyle Richards and Kim Richards, and confessed the secret to her 40+ year-long marriage to the businessman.

“We met at a very young age and I think that moving to New York and starting out on our own, without the influences of friends that we grew up with, or even family getting in the middle, and then working for everything.” Hilton tells Celeb Secrets host Alexandria Bellusci on the red carpet at Hilton’s renowned Christmas party last month (November 28).
She continued, “Our parents were like, “You’re doing this, you’re on your own.’ So every little bit of furniture, the coffee table, the little dinette, everything, we did everything together like that. Not taking one another for granted. Keeping the right friends and good influences. Happy couples. If you see that the guy is not somebody that you want your boyfriend or your girlfriend… keep them away. And to be grateful and to keep that spice and excitement. You always gotta keep a little something for yourself.”
Kathy also spilled to Celeb Secrets her love for all things Christmas.
“Christmas is my favorite time of year. I had a store for 10 years and every holiday we had like 15 trees on display. We had the Lucille Ball tree, the Mick Jagger tree, and they were all tailored to different celebrities which was a lot of fun and exciting. I’ve always had love for Christmas. I have beautiful trees. I make a lot of wreaths myself, all-year-long, all-vintage.”
