Polly AÂ has released her new single “Like We Used To” today!
The LA-based songstress’ track is off her forthcoming EP Ghetto Gold Dream, which is set to debut on Friday, August 26th.
Throughout her new EP, Polly A zig-zags between R&B, reggae, alternative, and hop-hop with equal parts grace and gusto. Ghetto Gold Dream serves as a platform for Polly A to explore her own artistry and talent, years after breaking into the music industry as a lyricist. Using her background in poetry, Polly A is now sharing songs that are an extension of herself. Performing at both Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza this summer, Polly A continues to awe crowds as solo performer.
Polly A will embark on seven city North American tour with Selah Sue on September 12th to promote the EP. See full tour routing below.
Growing up to the sounds of Bob Marley and Yellowman on her mom’s stereo, Polly A — aka Meleni Smith — moved to New York City, and immediately immersed herself in music. She began to craft a hybridization of her inspirations over the course of penning countless songs and has collaborated with some of music’s biggest names including J. Cole, who she co-wrote the gold-certified “Crooked Smile” with, as well as Alicia Keys and more who would go on to record her music. Now, Polly A has emerged with an unpredictable and undeniable style of her own, reflecting everything from punchy lyrical poetry to an island swagger.
