It’s over for Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones.
The fan favorite couple from the hit Netflix dating show, Love Is Blind, announced in a joint statement they’re getting a divorce after one year of marriage.
“After much thought, we’re saddened to share that we have separated and will begin the process of divorcing,” the two shared in the statement. “While we have love for each other, our lives are going in different directions, and that’s okay.”
Fans watched as the two fell in love sight unseen during the second season of Love Is Blind. Jones got down on one knee after getting to know McNeely in the pods, and asked her to marry him. After taking a vacation and living together for a short while, the two tied the knot during the finale.
But their romance wasn’t smooth sailing. It seemed McNeely was Jones’ second choice after he almost proposed to Mallory Zapata first. However, she told him that she had stronger feelings for another man, Salvador Perez.
It was then clear once they moved in together, that the two may be on different paths. McNeely shared her concern that Jones may still be in a “party” phase whereas she wanted to spend more time at home with her man.
They continued the statement with, “Coming to this decision was far from easy and we will always wish each other the absolute best.”
It’s unclear what went into the dissolution of their relationship considering two months ago they posted photos from what looked like an engagement photo shoot.
It seems like they are on good terms though. After making the announcement, McNeely posted a Simpsons meme on her Instagram story showing Homer Simpson hiding in the bushes with the caption, “mood” and a crying laughter emoji.
Jones then reshared that meme adding, “This is some b******t. I’m jealous you’re going on vacay before me” with the crying laughter emoji.
“We hope you all will give us some space as we close this chapter of our lives. Thank you to our close friends and family for loving both of us through our experience.”
They then thanked their “Love Is Blind Family” and credited Netflix for an “unforgettable opportunity” saying they have brought “overwhelming love and joy into our lives.”
The statement concluded with, “This experience has taught us so much about ourselves, vulnerability and love. We don’t regret a single thing!”
