Mary Sarah is gearing up for the music video release for her new single “The Bottom,” and Celeb Secrets has your first look at the fun new visual that’s an absolute must-see.
The Nashville-based singer/songwriter, who released the timeless country soon-to-be classic earlier this year, tells Celeb Secrets that “The Bottom” is a mid-tempo, honky tonk groove that talks about how wonderful life can be when you focus on the little luxuries. According to the budding country songstress, it’s got all of the “upbeat, roll your windows down and jam” vibes that’s perfect for the summer months.
“I am so fortunate enough to have had this song pitched to me as an artist. I had been trying to write or find an upbeat song for a while and when it came across my path I absolutely fell in love lyrically as well as visually,” Mary Sarah tells us of the track, which was co-written by Sarah Allison Turner, Paul Sikes, and Autumn McEntire and produced by Bart Butler.

Showcasing her unique voice and unwavering dedication to her country roots, the 29-year-old wanted to play into the song’s vibe while incorporating a storyline for her first “big” music video. Teaming up with her production team Stormlight, the former The Voice contestant landed on a relatable concept that’s bound to resonate with listeners worldwide.
“When my team and I decided this was the song we were doing a video to, I immediately wanted to make sure we went with something that had more of a storyline. I have done acting most my life and to me that part is such a fun part of what I get to do!” Mary Sarah explains. “We teamed up with an amazing production team, Stormlight. Logan and the team presented us with what they saw visually and it absolutely lined up with my vision that money doesn’t always have to be the determining factor on having a great time.”
And while she had an absolute blast filming the entire project, Mary Sarah says her favorite memory from the shoot was closing it out with the famous phrase “that’s a wrap.”
“[My favorite moment] would be when we got to say ‘THAT’S A WRAP!!’ This video is the first BIG music video I have ever done. Which, if you know how long I’ve been doing music, it’s kind of crazy I haven’t done one before. So for me, the finish to the day was such an ‘OMG WE DID IT’ moment,” she recalls.
“We had the opportunity of shooting at one of my favorite dive bars, Dee’s, which was so perfect for the vibe of what we were trying to capture. I will admit, it was 10am and yes I was actually drinking whiskey. They call it method acting,” she laughs.

“The Bottom” continues the musical journey started by the 2024 releases “Chain Smokin’” and “Stubborn.” “Chain Smokin’,” co-written by Trevor Rosen, Matt Jenkins, and GRAMMY® Award-winning singer/songwriter Brandy Clark and produced by Butler, cleverly parallels a woman’s nightly escapades with the addictive habit referenced in the title; while “Stubborn,” a timeless country ballad, was crafted by the talented trio of Ashley Gorley, Hillary Lindsey, and Shane McAnally and continues to showcase her inevitable talent as a performer.
As for what’s next, Mary Sarah plans to release more music, with her next track being her most personal one yet.
“We are gearing up for our next release which is a very personal song to me,” she reveals. “That is how we will close out 2024, but I can honestly say that there is so much more in store even after the next release. As a team we are continuing to take every day and create with intention at every step.”
