With ZOMBIES 3 just around the corner, Disney Channel is gearing up by hiring brand new cast members.
Matt Cornett (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series), Kyra Tantao (Law and Order: Special Victims Unit) and breakout star Terry Hu have secured coveted roles in the wildly successful film series. These three newcomers will add some intense drama by playing space aliens in the upcoming movie, according to Disney’s press release on Wednesday (May 19).
Cornett and Tantao will each take on extraterrestrial personals as A-Lan and A-Li. Meanwhile, Hu will act as a nonbinary alien named A-Spen. More excitingly, this incoming trio will have a supernatural telepathic bond! As soon as they arrive at Seabrook High, Disney says their unique connection will shock all parties–from zombies to humans and everything in between.
“Our ‘ZOMBIES’ franchise has created a remarkable connection with kids everywhere, thanks in large part to the characters’ optimistic and relatable attributes that help them build identity, overcome obstacles and foster an inclusive community,” said Disney spokesperson Judy Taylor. “The story in this installment further develops those same themes with the introduction of new outsiders played by a talented and diverse group of actors.”
For those who may need a refresh, the first two installments of the thrilling Disney Channel Original Movie knocked it out of the park like no other! The news release highlights ZOMBIES (2018) and ZOMBIES 2 (2020) both scored #1 spots on cable TV among kid and tween audiences alike.
Naturally, Disney Channel couldn’t resist the opportunity to build upon this success by igniting a trequel that will feature some new appearances while staying true to long-time movie icons.
Returning fan fave cast members will include the werewolf gang: Chandler Kinney (Willa), Pearce Joza (Wyatt) and Ariel Martin (Wynter). Next, we’ll also have the classic cheerleader duo with appearances from Trevor Tordjman (Bucky) and Carla Jeffery (Bree). Last but certainly not least, the film will be complete with our beloved zombies Kylee Russell (Eliza), James Godfrey (Bonzo) and Kingston Foster (Zoey) as lovable zombies, playing alongside formerly appointed actors Milo Manheim (Zed) and Meg Donnelly (Addison).
Production is set to begin on May 31. Are you anticipating the date as much as we are? Let us know by leaving a reaction below or tweeting us @celebsecrets.
