And with the release of “Wasted Prayers” last Friday (February 24th) on all music streaming platforms, Schuster’s future is very bright, as this hot new track is about to make noise on both social media and the music charts.

Written by Schuster, along with the help of Adam Yuron and Jonny Price, “Wasted Prayers” is truly as real as it gets.

When asked about the meaning behind the song, Schuster revealed to us, “I feel everybody comes to a point and, you know, maybe alcohol is involved in any way, shape or form, but they feel a little bit ignored whether you’re a Christian or not. I can definitely admit that that’s how I felt sometimes.”

“Some people talk about like, how you just need to cry it out and then move on, and that song feels like that cry, and then you just kind of move on,” he shared. “I think it’s one of those songs as a listenener, you hear it and then after, it’s kind of this deep breath of fresh air… ‘I just relived some horrific moments and now I am back to normal and life feels good.'”

After listening to the song ALL morning, we can agree that “Wasted Prayers” is truly the breath of fresh air that Matt Schuster claims it is!

Aside from the track’s deeper meaning, the talented singer-songwriter also wants people to love it in a surface-level way. “I just want people to just listen to that song and be like, ‘Damn, that’s a really cool song. I really like it. I really enjoy it. I’m on the Matt Schuster train, and let’s get some more music,'” he explained to us.

When asked about how he channels the ability to be open in his music, Schuster revealed, “Truthfully, I think it’s just easier for some people than others,” going on to reveal that “writing is just [his] therapy.”

“Going into a write can be how I kind of vent and just kind of get away from everything, and so for me it’s easy in that sense to just go in,” he shared with us.
