Meet Robyn Ottolini: Rising Country Star Known as ‘the Eminem of Country Music’ (Exclusive)

You NEED to keep rising country star Robyn Ottolini on your radar!

Having been compared to Kacey Musgraves and Maren Morris, Ottolini is a powerful female artist that is taking the United States by storm, all while bringing a more modern and savage twist to country music.

Something that makes Ottolini stand out from other artists is the fact that she calls herself “the Eminem of country music,” because her songs “will either piss you off, make you fall in love with her, or a little of both.”

Robyn tells it like it is and isn’t afraid to speak her mind, which is something we truly love about an artist on the rise.

“I don’t know how to fake it,” she revealed in her exclusive interview with Celeb Secrets. “I think how I write is very just like, I’ll talk to myself in a mirror or I’ll be talking to people. I got nothing to hide. I mean, I’m not a terrible human. I haven’t killed anybody, so like I might as well just be honest.”

“I always think like, I’m not that special, so whatever I go through and however I see things, I bet there’s a lot of people out there who see it the same way. Like, I’m just a basic human, but I can rip a melody, so that’s how I got here, and so I don’t see it changing anytime soon,” Ottolini added.

Ottolini’s career took off after the release of her track “F-150,” which gained traction nationwide on TikTok.

She revealed to us that a Ford F-150 was the car that her ex used to drive. “He broke my heart and then I just didn’t wanna see an F-150 anywhere because it would remind me of him,” Ottolini said. “It was such a small town that like the chances of it actually being him were very high.”

When talking about the social media success of this track, she said to us, “I was independent at the time, and putting out music was all I worked towards and everything I did… I just wanted to make honest music that I believed in, and it turns out a lot of other people believed in it too,” ultimately causing the song to go viral.

“I’m just really grateful and I’m sad that everyone’s been through that, but we’re all humans so I’m glad I could give them some reprieve in this world,” she said.

The song did so well that it hit number four on Spotify’s Viral 50 – USA chart AND landed her a record deal with Warner Music Nashville.

Being born and raised in a small town outside of Toronto called Uxbridge, Ottolini took a leap of faith by signing with WMN and moving to the United States, all within just WEEKS of “F-150” blowing up.

According to Ottolini, “I’ve been doing music since I was 13 or writing music since I was 13, and then when I was 20 I decided I was really gonna go for the dream, and long story short, I got the record deal and and the publishing deal and I’m very grateful because I wanted it for forever.”

When reflecting on how “F-150” led her to the record deal she’s always dreamed of, Ottolini revealed to us, “I never really thought that like the song could be anything, let alone like lead me to a record deal and a publishing deal, and I think that’s like the crazy thing about life is you don’t see it coming and you don’t know how you feel when it’s happening. You just go through the motions and you just can’t believe it. You just can’t believe it.”

From then on, Ottolini has been releasing TONS of new music, with her most recent single “Busy” dropping exactly a week ago (September 30th) on all music streaming platforms.

“Busy,” a “playful song [that] gives a taste of an ex’s own medicine,” fits PERFECTLY into Ottolini’s bad*** style of music, and it is a great example of the type of music she typically creates.

Ottolini is even a savage on social media! When announcing the new song, she said in a tweet “Go listen to all of the stupid things I’d rather do than make time for THAT person…”

Way to throw shade at an ex, Robyn! We love to see it.

With even more new music on the way, we asked the Canadian songstress about her typical writing process when making a new song.

She revealed to us, “You can go into the writing room and you’re like, ‘Hey, this is an idea I came up with. This is like the life that I’ve lived or like parts of the story,’ and you put the real story into songs, but sometimes you just go in with a concept and you’re like ‘Let’s write what I’ve been through.'”

In addition to this, Ottolini is starting to branch out and partner up with even more talented songwriters now that she is settled in Nashville, Tennessee.

“Up until like the last EP, [The But I’m Not Always Sad Either EP], I would write with a few friends here and there, but now I’m really starting to get into co-writing and writing with a bunch of people,” she said. “It’s been fun being down in Nashville and just getting different ideas from different people, but it’s always a process too, because you’re like ‘I don’t know you, I don’t wanna give you my secrets,’ but I’m starting to make friends and I’m a lot more honest with friends, which is great.”

With dreams of collaborating with Shania Twain, Sam Hunt or Maren Morris, we know there’s a VERY bright future ahead for Robyn Ottolini when it comes to creating new music.

With the release of new music comes even more live performances.

Ottolini shared with Celeb Secrets a little bit about what fans can expect at one of her shows, and we are SO excited to hopefully catch her on the road.

“If you come to my live show, we put on a show for you guys” she shared. “It’s got some high energy. It’s got some vulnerable moments. It has a lot of storytelling.  I’m not there to just play some songs… we’ve worked really hard on the live shows and we’re gonna add a little bit more.”

You can check if she’s hitting a city near you HERE.

When it comes to new content, Robyn Ottolini told us, “it’s not gonna stop, so hang out, chill, sit back, grab a drink. We’ll just keep floating,” and we are absolutely thrilled.

Until we get more new content from Ottolini, be sure to listen to “Busy” below. Let us know what you think of both Robyn Ottolini AND her hot new track by either leaving a reaction at the bottom of the post or by sending us a tweet at @celebsecrets.
