If there was ever any doubt that Michelle Branch‘s music has stood the test of time, Tuesday night’s MBTV Presents: Everywhere and Back Again – Live in Front of a Studio Audience erased it within minutes.
After mysterious billboards appeared across Los Angeles teasing MBTV just days before the event, Branch has officially stepped into one of the most exciting creative eras of her career. Inside The Sun Rose in West Hollywood, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter transformed the intimate venue into a full-blown love letter to the early 2000s. Inspired by the golden age of MTV and TRL — the very platform that helped catapult Branch into superstardom — the one-night-only event celebrated her first 25 years in music while revealing exactly where she’s headed next.
And for longtime fans, the future looks just as exciting as the past.
From the moment former MTV VJ Damien Fahey welcomed the crowd, the energy felt less like a press event and more like a reunion. The recreated TRL-style set, nostalgic graphics and intimate interview format instantly transported everyone back to the era when The Spirit Room dominated CD players and after-school countdowns.
“Not many people can say they met at the MTV Beach House,” Branch joked to Fahey. “Did we time travel?”

That playful spirit carried throughout the evening before Branch shifted gears to unveil the biggest news of the night: her new EP, Everywhere and Back Again, arriving November 6 via BMG.
The project reimagines some of the most beloved songs from her catalog — including “Everywhere,” “All You Wanted,” “Goodbye to You,” “Breathe,” “You Get Me,” and “Are You Happy Now?”— through fresh collaborations with artists who grew up inspired by her music. Additional collaborators will be revealed in the coming months.
“Getting to hear these songs, many I wrote as a teenager, performed by friends and peers that I so greatly admire has been such a ‘pinch me’ moment as a songwriter,” Branch shared. “Being able to celebrate a 25-year career while firmly believing my best work is still ahead of me is the dream of any artist.”

And the first taste of that new era is already here. Branch reunited with New Radicals frontman Gregg Alexander for a newly reimagined version of “The Game of Love,” marking their first collaboration since the Grammy-winning smash that originally paired her with Santana more than two decades ago. During the taping, Alexander surprised Branch with a heartfelt recorded message before the audience got an exclusive preview of the refreshed track.
“‘The Game of Love’ has been such a special song in my life made possible by one of my personal musical heroes, Gregg Alexander,” she said. “Being able to sing this together with him is really a full-circle moment and captures the original spirit of the demo.”
As the lights dimmed and the interview portion wrapped, Branch picked up her guitar and reminded everyone exactly why those songs have endured. Fans enthusiastically sang every lyric to “All You Wanted,” “Breathe” and “Everywhere,” creating one of those rare concert moments where the audience becomes just as much a part of the performance as the artist herself.

Celeb Secrets’ take? While the event was built on nostalgia, it never felt stuck in the past. Branch’s vocals sounded as rich and effortless as ever, and between songs she shared stories with the warmth of someone reconnecting with old friends rather than simply revisiting old hits. Watching an audience that included original fans alongside younger listeners sing every word proved these songs have taken on a life far beyond the era that introduced them.
Before closing out the night, Branch officially announced the Everywhere and Back Again Tour, her first major headlining trek celebrating this new chapter. The nationwide run kicks off September 27 in Seattle before making stops in Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Boston and more through mid-November.
If this week’s celebration proved anything, it’s that Michelle Branch isn’t simply revisiting the soundtrack of the early 2000s. She’s giving it a brand-new ending — and inviting fans to come everywhere and back again with her.
