Happy Monday (and Halloween), readers!
Meet our new Music Monday artist of the week, Public.Â
Public is a pop/rock trio from Cincinnati, Ohio that started with John Vaughn (lead vocals/guitar) and Ben Lapps (drums) writing songs in a basement as a duo. They were later joined by Matt Alvarado (bass) to form their current lineup.
Quickly after, the band found themselves on the road supporting acts such as Walk the Moon, Twenty One Pilots, Young the Giant, as well as participating in major festivals like Forecastle, Bunbury, CMJ, and SXSW, giving them exposure to a variety of crowds and fan bases.
Earlier this year, the band released their new single “Perfect” and we here are Celeb Secrets loved the sound and its incredible message!
“Perfect signifies a new attitude for the band, and a sound that has truly evolved since our last release,” the band told us exclusively. “We wanted to communicate a message to all our female fans with this song in hopes to establish what we stand for as a band and as individuals.”
When we were given the opportunity to give YOU the exclusive first look to the band’s remixed track, we thought it would be the PERFECT Halloween treat! Did you know it was remixed by Walk the Moon‘s Eli Maiman?
“We actually began conversations with WTM (specifically Eli) about a remix back before we released our second EP. We always loved the idea but it ended up falling through due to some scheduling conflicts,” lead singer John Vaughn said. So here they are, two years later, working with Mainman for the remix.
Vaughn also revealed a really cool behind-the-scenes secret about the track. “Something people won’t know about this remix is that it’s actually the second Walk the Moon remix of a Public song that exists. There is a remix of a tune from our second EP that came into existence, but it didn’t reach the final release stage.”
Listen to the “Perfect” remix exclusively below and make sure to follow Public on Twitter for new music news at @PUBLICTHEBAND.
