It’s always a good day when Luke Bryan releases new music. His latest project, Mind of a Country Boy, is officially here and full of anthems and ballads. It tops our list of new country songs dropping on this week’s New Music Friday today (September 27).
“I’ve been able to take my time and really compile songs for this album. If it’s a song that I cut two or three years ago, and I still love it, and it still sounds fresh, then I feel like it’ll stand the test of time.”
He continued, “I think this album, as I’ve tried to do with all of my albums, just has a little bit of everything. I do some things different vocally on this one that I’ve not done before. It’s about each song having its place and having its meaning. It’s trying not to be overly redundant with songs. I think that’s why I’ve been blessed to have a long career and what I feel like this album’s going to do.”
Luke isn’t the only one who has released a new full length project today. Billy Strings released Highway Prayers, Cody Jinks dropped Backside of 30, Logan Crosby released 2019 while Mickey Guyton released her project House On Fire.
Brett Eldredge has also graced us with his third holiday album, Merry Christmas (Welcome to the Family), and it’s an assemblage of eight original holiday songs out now on his first and very own label, Warm and Cozy Records. He released the first single for the project earlier this week, “Sweet December,” featuring Kelly Clarkson.
He says of the collaboration, “After singing ‘Under the Mistletoe’ together, I knew there was no one else in the world I wanted to sing this song with. Kelly’s voice has this soulful retro feeling. I’ve never done a Christmas song in this style, and I really love it.”
A bunch of duets have also been unleashed today, including “I’m Gonna Love You” by Carrie Underwood and Cody Johnson, “Play Something Country” by Brooks & Dunn and Lainey Wilson, “Better Than You” by Joe Nichols and Annie Bosko, “Hello Shitty Day” by Miranda Lambert and Jake Worthington, “The Tunnel” by Lori McKenna and Stephen Wilson Jr., “I’ve Been Drinking” by Austin Snell and Hannah McFarland, “High Enough” by Lexie Hayden and Jason Nix and “LOW ROAD” by Adrian Nunez and Avery Anna.
We also highly suggest that you listen to our other favorite country music stars who have released new songs today, including Tyler Hubbard, Wyatt Flores, Brian Kelley, Conner Smith, Megan Moroney, Dylan Schneider, Dylan Marlowe, Gavin Adcock, Charles Wesley Godwin, Kashus Culpepper, Jordan Fletcher, Ashley Monroe, Brittney Spencer, Owen Riegling and Rodney Clawson.
