Our K-Pop editing of New Music Friday is back, and boy are you in for a treat!
As always, we’ll be sharing with you our favorite Korean music releases of the week ranging from K-Pop, K-R&B, K-Rap, and lots more, including Japanese releases from your favorite Korean artists. Rest assured, all of these will be bops because we don’t do skips around here.
This week, powerhouse boyband, SEVENTEEN just released their 8th EP, Your Choice, which marks the group’s first comeback in eight months.
Their press team emphasizes that the Your Choice album title is not only a reference to the members’ deepened maturity, but it also underscores the evident growth of SEVENTEEN’s sensibility and musicality as artists, especially when dealing with a multifaceted emotion such as love.
Comprised of six tracks: “Heaven’s Cloud,” the lead single “Ready to love,” “Anyone,” “GAM3 BO1” (Hip-hop team), “Wave” (Performance team), and “Same dream, same mind, same night” (Vocal team), SEVENTEEN’s genre-diverse EP paints a kaleidoscopic illustration of the kind of love they want to sing of and their various ways of expressing such emotions.
Other noteworthy releases this week come from girl group Brave Girls, as they released their highly-anticipated project Summer Queen; ONEWE, who dropped their mini album Planet Nine : Alter Ego; GOT7, whose two band members Yugyeom and BamBam released solo tracks; and UP10TION, who released the music video for “Spin Off.”
