Lizzy Shapiro Breaks Down Her Band Lizzy & The Triggermen’s New EP Track by Track

Today is one big day for singer/songwriter Lizzy Shapiro! Her band Lizzy & The Triggermen just dropped their first EP Good Songs For Bad Timesand with no pun intended, these are damn good songs for the bad times happening right now (aka Coronavirus).

Falling in love with jazz in early life, the group’s frontwoman Lizzy Shapiro fan-girled over Sarah, Judy, Billie and Ella, while her friends were swooning over boy bands. She dreamed of the day she’d be old enough to pull off that vocal sophistication, nuance and glamour, and that dream became a reality when she connected with Dan Barrett, a sideman with Benny Goodman’s band, to form Lizzy & The Triggermen.

The group’s shows are all about creating immersive experiences and transporting their audience to a new dimension; like a 2-hour, mini-vacation where you leave feeling happy, energized, recharged and blissed out. It’s a golden-era experience that is edgy and a bit underground. In just a year, the band has headlined and sold-out shows at premiere venues such as The Wiltern, the El Rey and the Troubadour before even releasing a single track, just through word-of-mouth about their electric live shows which has organically built them a dedicated following.

Lizzy (virtually) sits down with Celeb Secrets to break down the 6-song extended play track by track, explaining each of their meanings and the process behind choosing them for the final cut.
