The moment we’ve been waiting for is finally here: Charli XCX dropped the music video for her smash hit “Speed Drive” from the official Barbie movie soundtrack.
The clip begins with the singer/songwriter hanging her black boots out the window as begins the song singing “uh oh, she’s my best friend in the whole world.” A pink convertible is also seen doing donuts in the parking lot, which is exactly what we imagine when we hear this upbeat, fast-tempo track.
Her phone rings and interrupts the music video. She exits the car wearing a white bodysuit and answers the call from Sam Smith, who sings “Man I Am,” a song that’s also featured on the soundtrack.
Picking up where they left off, Charli is seen wearing a pink snapback and singing the rest of her song while the pink convertible is whipping around the parking lot behind her. We see a flash of the car’s license plate which displays “XCX” as the plate numbers and “Barbieland” as the state location.
Charli hops back into the convertible and speeds away out of the frame as the music ends. An ending clip then shows a tire that is lit on fire, rolling across the last frame of the video.

This is not the ONLY musical event going on for Charli XCX this week. Many fans think the “Good Ones” singer will have a feature on Addison Rae’s debut album, specifically on the song titled “2 die 4.” To bring even more attention to those rumors, Charli quote tweeted the “Obsessed” singer’s tweet and added “cult classic.”
Guess we’ll have to wait two more days to see if this is ~really~ happening.
