New Music Friday: Lana Del Rey Releases Cowboy Ballad ‘Henry, come on’ – April 11, 2025

It’s that time of week again!

Lana Del Rey has released a full version of her song, “Henry, come on.” The gentle cowboy ballad comes nearly a month before the singer’s 10th studio album, The Right Person Will Stay, coming May 21.

However, after the single’s release, the singer admitted in an Instagram video that things may be changing. She said, “I do have a lot more to say, that – I mean, you know it’s not gonna come on time, right? Like, should I even tell you that the name changed again? Should I tell you that now while you’re so happy that you even have a song? Yeah. Maybe I’ll wait.”

The song was first teased in January of 2024 on Instagram, and Lana shared the news of the upcoming album’s release last November, saying, “So grateful that my 13 tracks came together with my beautiful work between Luke, Jack, Zach and Drew Erickson amongst others. Happy for you to hear a few songs coming up before Stagecoach starting with Henry. Love Always.”

Rumors of a country project began circulating over a year ago, with the title Lasso going around. Now, the singer admits that the album will take a slightly different direction than originally planned.

“Originally, me and the label were excited because the energy of the music of the album was meant to reflect my new life,” Lana told Vogue Italia. “Now, I’m not so sure, but I’m usually pretty good with my own timing. I might turn it into something more ‘Southern Gothic,’ like it was meant to be from the start, and less country.”

Other artists that we are bumping on this week’s New Music Friday playlist,  include Jelly RollBon Iver, Cynthia Erivo, Betty Who, JENNIE, Anne-Marie, Sabrina Claudio, Jessie Murph, Honey Bxby, Sweet Love, FIFTY FIFTY, Rauw Alejandro, Calum Hood, Prince Royce, Finn Wolfhard, Lola Brooke, Sadie Jean, and more!
