It’s the best day of the week and there are a lot of new releases today (November 15) for New Music Friday that we are suuuper excited about.
Shawn Mendes is finally back on the scene with a brand new full-length, poignant release, Shawn. It’s home to the previously released tracks, “Why Why Why,” “Isn’t That Enough,” “Nobody Knows” and “Heart of Gold,” and shows a new vulnerable side of the singer. It’s his fifth studio project and follows his 2020 release, Wonder.
”Music can really be medicine,” the star shared in an Instagram caption teasing the album’s release, “2 years ago I felt like I had absolutely no idea who I was. A year ago I couldn’t step into a studio without falling into complete panic. So to be here right now with 12 beautiful finished songs feels like such a gift.”
He continued, “Honestly thank god for my friends and family. Life can be brutal but having a small group of people you deeply trust to walk you through makes it so much better. I have no idea how I would have made it through the last couple years let alone make an album without you.”

Tate McRae has also had an exciting week as she’s announced her upcoming album, So Close to What, coming Feb. 21 via RCA Records, and her 2025 Miss Possessive World Tour spanning across 50 dates.“2 Hands” is the first release from this cycle, and was written by legendary hitmakers Ryan Tedder, Lostboy and Amy Allen. The accompanying music video has also dropped, and McRae shared her thoughts on the new song in an official statement.
“‘2 hands’ shows a different side of me than what people are used to. The song captures the feeling of falling in love and how sometimes just being close to someone is all you really need. A genuine connection goes beyond needing constant reassurance or fancy things, simply being together is what matters.”
Quite a few of our other favorites have also released their full-length projects and songs, including Linkin Park, Gwen Stefani, Nickelback, St. Vincent, Wallice, The Brook & The Bluff, JIN, JORDY, Poppy, daydreamers, Lady Gaga, Blake Shelton, Dasha, Shaboozey, James Blake, Lauv, Bleachers, Sam Fender, Lil Baby, Ben Rector, Kenzie, Sabrina Sterling, Freya Skye, Genia, joan, Jonah Marais, ryman leon, Yola, Eighty Ninety and more.
