Nick Bosa Stars in 49ers 33-17 Win Over the Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins flew to San Francisco for a battle against the 49ers on Sunday (December 4) for their Week 13 matchup.

With that said, the 49ers came out on top with a final score of 33-17 and improved to 8-4 on the year, while the Dolphins fell to 8-4.

Superstar pass rusher Nick Bosa led the 49ers in this one. Bosa had three sacks in the contest, including causing a fumble by hitting Tua Tagovailoa and thus securing the win for the Niners as linebacker Dre Greenlaw scooped up the ball and took it to the house for a San Francisco touchdown.

Speaking of Greenlaw, the star linebacker also heavily starred for the 49ers as he finished the contest with a team-high eight tackles to go along with a pass deflection and the touchdown he scored.

The Niners defense also added three interceptions on the day, including picking off Tagovailoa twice after the three-year pro had gone 193 consecutive pass attempts without an interception which was the longest streak in the league amongst all quarterbacks this season; the recipients of the interceptions were Fred Warner, Deommodore Lenoir, and Jimmie Ward.

As for the offense, San Francisco lost starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to an ankle injury during their first drive of the game. Rookie quarterback Brock Purdy would come into the game in Garoppolo’s place to make his NFL debut; the rookie truly delivered as he finished the big-time win by throwing for 210 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

To get away from the stats, Purdy came into the game with a glowing confidence signifying he was prepared and that confidence showed throughout the game.

Also contributing significantly for the Niners were Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, and Brandon Aiyuk. McCaffrey finished the game with 66 yards on the ground to go along with 80 receiving yards and a touchdown. As for the team’s lead wideouts, Samuel had six catches for 58 yards, and Aiyuk had five receptions for 46 yards.

The 49ers showed the world why they are the number one ranked defense, and their offense also indicated that they are better than what they are credited for. The Niners have been a contender and, with this win, proved they are indeed one of the best teams in the NFL.

As for Miami, it was a tough day, especially on the offensive side of the ball, as Tua Tagovailoa was unable to accurately throw passes for the majority of the game until the fourth quarter of the game when he threw a perfect 45-yard bomb to Tyreek Hill for a touchdown; something else to talk about with Miami’s offense was their inability to run the ball as they finished with just 33 yards on eight rushing attempts in the game.

San Francisco will look to keep things rolling in week fourteen at home against Tom Brady and the Bucs.

Miami will look to bounce back in a primetime showdown in Los Angeles against the Chargers on Sunday Night Football in week fourteen.
