NOAHJVMES Pays Homage to His Roots with New Single “Homesick” (Listen)

While NOAHJVMES loves living in Nashville, there are parts of him that still misses where he grew up.

The 28-year-old California native is paying homage to his roots with his new single “Homesick,” which is all about that feeling of missing a certain place, person, or thing but knowing that your real home is where your heart is.

“I wrote this song shortly after moving from LA to Nashville about missing home. Although I love it here in Tennessee and don’t regret moving to Nashville, there are things about California that I will always cherish and miss,” NOAHJVMES tells Celeb Secrets exclusively. “This song is about realizing that the actual location doesn’t really matter, as long as you are with the ones you love.”

The song, which is available on all streaming platforms now, was inspired by his late grandfather, a first generation Fillipino who emigrated to the United States and settled in California.

“My grandfather is a first generation Filipino-American and he is the one who I credit for my love of music and singing. I grew up singing karaoke in his home as a child and heard so many different types of music. He is no longer here with us, but I know there were times that he missed his home country of the Philippines,” he shares.

New to the music scene, Noah made his debut nearly six years ago with the release of his first-ever original song “High Off You.” The track, which was created and published with no label, management or PR backing, has racked up over two million streams of Spotify as the number continue to grows. Hot off his first single, the California native went on to release his debut EP Lost Angeles in 2018, followed by songs like “Lipstick” and “Tell Me” in 2019, “Lover” and “Somewhere With You” in 2020 and “Leavin’ California” and “Smile” earlier this year.

“Homesick” is the second taste of the artist’s upcoming sophomore EP, which is expected to drop on July 1st. Blending his previous hip-hop and R&B flair with the southern sounds of his new city, the artist’s new material mixes two worlds that are very representative of the influx of cultures and backgrounds that Music City has seen over the last two years.

The project is also Noah’s first in two years, which he hopes will help reach not only a local Nashville fanbase but listeners worldwide.

“My plans for 2022 are to continue to release music consistently and grow my new local Nashville fan base,” he says. “I will be speaking in New York at NFT NYC in June and also will be having live performances throughout the year with an EP releasing.”
