Olivia Rodrigo Champions Cardi B And Their Friendship Couldn’t Be Cuter

Olivia Rodrigo and Cardi B just had an adorable hear-to-heart via Twitter.

It all started when the songstress behind “drivers license” opened up about her love for Cardi amid an interview with Apple Music that went public today (April 22). When asked about her long-time icon, Rodrigo let out her inner fangirl saying, “I’m so in love with her! I wanna marry her.”

Things only got more personal from there.

As Rodrigo went on, she dished her fave moment from all of Cardi’s hit songs. Not surprisingly, it happens to be a line from “Get Up 10” where Cardi defines herself as an all-round genuine person with the exception of her boob job by rapping: “Real b*tch, the only thing fake is the boobs.”

“That’s the energy. I’m obsessed with her,” Rodrigo exclaims while reminiscing how empowered she feels when listening to those lyrics.

Immediately after the interview took place IRL, Billboard took to Twitter where they released a sneak peak of one iconic moment. The preview revealed Rodrigo’s praise: “Cardi B gives me the courage to sort of say whatever I want to say.”

After seeing the tweet, Cardi couldn’t resist sharing some more words of inspiration with the up and coming breakthrough star. She quoted the tweet on Wednesday and wrote: “This is so sweet. You doing sooo good for your age. Don’t let no toxic shit get to you and don’t let nobody restrict you from your voice.”

Naturally, Rodrigo just had to show some more appreciation for all of Cardi’s inspiration. She shared the kind commentary with over 750,000 followers next to a caption of a heart emoji and the crying face, highlighting how emotional she gets over one of her fave music sensations.

This is far from Rodrigo’s first Twitter exchange with the rap star. Back in January, the singer cleverly offered to use her “driver’s license” to take Cardi out for a McDonald’s run. We’re so excited the pair has continued supporting one another time and time again.
