Start your engines, babes — Prime Video just dropped the official trailer and key art for their brand-new YA action-drama series Motorheads, and let’s just say… we are racing to May 20 like it’s prom night and someone just handed us the keys to a vintage Mustang.
Streaming exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories (global slay), Motorheads is serving first love, first heartbreak, and high-octane high school chaos all in one turbocharged package. It’s Fast & Furious meets Euphoria—if Euphoria had more horsepower and less glitter.
Set in a once-booming rust-belt town that’s now down on its luck, the 10-episode series follows a crew of misfit teens who bond over their shared obsession with street racing. As they dodge drama, high school politics, and a few traffic laws (oops), they form the unlikeliest of ride-or-die friendships.
And the cast? Buckle all the way up because Michael Cimino (Love, Victor) is giving heartthrob with a need for speed while Melissa Collazo (One Of Us Is Lying) keeps it fierce behind the wheel. Ryan Phillippe (Shooter) pulls up as the cool uncle with a complicated past (hello, daddy issues) and Nathalie Kelley, Mia Healey, Drake Rodger, Matt Lanter, Josh Macqueen, Uriah Shelton, Nicolas Cantu, and more absolute stunners.

As for the trailer? Total nitro-fueled slay. We open with gritty, revved-up shots of muscle cars speeding through abandoned streets—cue the heart-pounding soundtrack—and a moody voiceover that hints at darker truths under the hood. We meet Cimino’s character, your classic underdog-meets-mechanic-in-training, who’s navigating grief, gear shifts, and growing feelings. Melissa Collazo’s character? Total baddie energy with a killer instinct on the track and zero time for BS.
Between hallway beefs, forbidden crushes, late-night garage hookups (yep, sparks literally fly), and high-stakes races that could change everything, the trailer teases major drama ahead. Oh, and did we mention this iconic line?
“There are two types of people in the world… those who hit the brakes and those who hit the gas. The question you have to ask yourself is which one are you?”
Yeah. Chills. Instant goosebumps. Engine-roaring metaphor energy. We love to see it.

Behind the wheel (aka the creators’ chairs) are some major industry icons. Motorheads is written and executive produced by John A. Norris (who also showruns), with the pilot directed by Neil Burger (Divergent), and EPs including Ruben Fleischer (Venom), Keegan Rosenberger, and Dana Brunetti (House of Cards). Yes, the production team has range.
If you’re into fast cars, slow burns, emotionally stunted love interests, and plot twists that hit harder than a parking lot donut at midnight — this one’s for you.
