Shazam! Fury of the Gods star Rachel Zegler is set to star alongside beloved Clueless actress Alicia Silverstone in an upcoming disaster comedy titled Y2K. SNL alum Kyle Mooney will direct Y2K.
Y2K takes place on New Year’s Eve in 1999 as high school friends (played by Jaeden Martell and Julian Dennison) decide to sneak into a huge party to ring in the new year. As the night goes on, things begin to get crazier. Also starring in the funny flick will be Lachlan Watson, The Kid Laroi, and Tim Heidecker, to name a few.
Zegler is quite the talk of the town at the moment as she first rose to stardom with her role as Maria in West Side Story; Zegler will also have starring roles in Disney’s live-action version of Snow White as she will portray the beloved princess as well as a lead role in The Hunger Games prequel film, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. As for Silverstone, besides portraying her iconic Clueless character in a Super Bowl LVII commercial for Rakuten, she starred with Rebel Wilson in the Netflix movie Senior Year.
As for Mooney, the former sketch-comedy show cast member shows his versatility with his director title for this flick and acting role in the upcoming Jennifer Lawrence-led comedy No Hard Feelings. Something of note, You People star Jonah Hill will be one of the primary producers of this A24-made comedy.
All in all, this is set to be a hilarious movie filled with stars on camera and behind the scenes.
