It’s back and better than ever! Red Bull Dance Your Style is returning to multiple cities across the nation for their annual event this spring, and we have the scoop on what to expect from the premiere one-on-one street dance competition before its kickoff tomorrow, April 7th.
This year, the event is set to amplify dance scenes from all over the nation, as the event will hit cities like Boston (April 7), Tampa (April 16), Chicago (April 24), Washington D.C. (April 30), Oakland (May 6) and Atlanta (May 13) before making its final two-day stop in New Orleans (May 21-22), determining who will represent the US at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final in New York City later this year.
For those who don’t know, Red Bull Dance Your Style is a global all-styles street dance event series with a unique battle format. From hip hop to house, to locking to popping – dancers participating in RBDYS will need to “wow” the crowd and ultimately win their vote. Testing freestyle and musicality skills through unpredictable mainstream tracks ranging from recent global hits to classic beats, Red Bull Dance Your Style will have the crowd deciding who will rule the dance floor.
On March 23rd, Red Bull celebrated its reveal of the 2022 season by hosting a kickoff party in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. With the Celeb Secrets team being one of the lucky few to score an invite, guests (including us) were greeted with a Red Bull fanny pack, an unlimited amount of Mexican cuisine, an open bar, and a killer DJ. When making our way into the party, we discovered a massive dance floor featuring neon lights filled dancers from all over grooving to the beat. We were even treated to a special dance-off featuring Breaking, Popping, and Krumping, which ultimately foreshadowed what to expect from the competition this season.
The Celeb Secrets team will be making their way to Boston tomorrow, April 7th, to see all of the action LIVE and IN-PERSON for the first stop of the premiere one-on-one street dance competition. Taking place at the legendary House of Blues in Fenway, the event will be hosted by Melisa Valdez & Real P with DJ Baby Indiglo, along with a performance by Afrobeats Dance Boston. It will feature sixteen of today’s generation of freestylers are tapped to go head to head to test their skills, creativity and musicality. You can purchase tickets here.
Tomorrow, the sixteen dancers expected to battle include Beasty, Staccato, 4IN, Zuce Morales, Princess Lockeroo, Nano, Pumpkin, Lady Beast, Sadboy Shakur, Soo Missy Boog, Lady Ice, KitKat, Stiggity Stackz, Llorenz, Passion and A-Boogz.
