Reese Warren Shares the Process Behind Making Her First-Ever Song “Good Life” (Exclusive)

Reese Warren just dropped her very first single “Good Life,” and Celeb Secrets had the chance to chat with the budding entertainer to get the inside scoop on the track.

The release is paired with an upbeat music video, featuring Reese and her friends performing at a sunny summer talent show. Her stylish getup and catchy dance moves make for an exciting visual to parallel the lyrics.

Reese tells Celeb Secrets that the inspiration behind “Good Life” [was] spending time with [her] family and friends doing the things [they] love to do together.”

“[It’s all about] celebrating summer, swimming, camping and just hanging out and having fun,” she says in our exclusive interview.

Inspired by all the fun times Reese has with family and friends, “Good Life” celebrates the first day of summer and the fun memories it creates. It’s a top down, wind in your hair, upbeat summer anthem that is just what the post-Covid world needs.

Co-written with Shayon Daniels and Nicci Funicelli and produced by JENGA Productions, the song showcases the extraordinary talent of this young performer who began writing original songs at the age of 10.

When Reese last spoke to Celeb Secrets in April, she discussed her busy life as an actress and was only in the beginning stages of writing music. She spent her time during the pandemic by acting in two movies, shooting YouTube content, and staying on top of school work. “I have a crazy schedule but I love it,” she spilled.

Her busy schedule is bound to continue, as her music releases are not slowing down. What’s up next for this pint-sized powerhouse?

“I have another original song called ‘All About the Inside’ and I am getting ready to start my next song which will be released in November [following] an EP releasing after the 1st of the year. Music makes me happy!” she shares.

Celeb Secrets: Can you tell us a little bit about your musical journey? When did your interests in the arts begin?

Reese Warren: “My family is very musical. My father plays guitar and sings and my mother plays piano.  I have been singing and dancing since I could walk. My training began when I was five years old and started musical theater and dance, however, my formal training to take on the music industry started when I was 10.”

CS: Congratulations on your first single! Where did the inspiration for “Good Life” come from?

RW: “Thank you! The inspiration behind “Good Life” is spending time with my family and friends doing the things we love to do together.  Celebrating summer, swimming, camping and just hanging out and having fun.”

CS: What kind of stories do you want to share through your music? Who do you want it to reach?

RW: “I want to share stories about family and friends; relationships and life as a tween/teen. I want to reach anyone who can relate or connect with my music.”

CS: You had such a young start to songwriting! How does it feel being so young and a working musician? What challenges does this present to you?

RW: “Yes. I love to write. I write about my life and experiences. It feels great to be young and in this step of my journey as a working musician. I still have so much to learn and to develop in my talents as an artist.  The main challenge of being young in the music industry is the fact that I am YOUNG. I have a great team with me though and they help guide me so that I can reach my full potential.”

CS: You are a triple threat, out of dancing, singing, and acting – which one are you most passionate about and why?

RW: “At this time, I am most passionate about my singing and acting.  I want to be on a show where I can act, sing and dance. During my breaks from the show, I want to tour and perform my music.”

CS: When you are not songwriting or uploading videos to your youtube channel where can your audiences find you? What are some of your other interests!

RW: “Audiences can find me on my website: www.reesewarren.com. My main social platform is Instagram and you can find me @thereesewarren My YouTube Channel is: Reese Warren. When I am not honing my skills doing acting, music and dance classes, you can find me hanging out with my family and friends.  I like to travel, go camping, ride my back and just chill out and watch anime.”

CS: Which artists have influenced your taste in music and the content you want to create? Do you have anyone you dream of collaborating with?

RW: “I like all kinds of music. I think I prefer country music to just listen to when I am chilling at home. I am influenced by Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Miranda Lambert. I would love to collaborate with any or all of them!”

CS: You are releasing another song in November and are even getting ready to share an EP at the start of next year! Can you tell us a little bit about these projects?

RW: “Yes! My 2nd song, ‘All About the Inside,’ is ready to be released.  It is a slower song about the trials of life and when things get one feeling down, look to the inside of oneself and find the confidence to go move forward. We will be releasing it soon.  In September, I will be working on my next two songs, one of those should be released in November and yes, my EP should be out in January of 2022.”

CS: Now that we are entering the post pandemic world, do you have hopes for live performance opportunities? Do you like singing for others?

RW: “Yes! I look forward to touring and doing live performances. I love to sing and perform for others.”

CS: Since we’re Celeb Secrets, are there any secrets you can tell us about yourself or the single?

RW: “A fun fact: ‘All About the Inside’ was actually my first song I ever wrote. It will be my second release, but it was written first.  When I wrote it initially, it was a fast paced pop song.  Now it is a slower, reflective song. I can’t wait to share it with you.”
