Ricky Martin has officially won his court case against his nephew, who accused the singer of harassment, and having a sexual relationship with him.
About a week ago, Martin’s nephew alleged that he and the singer had a 7-month sexual affair. TMZ reported that the nephew also claimed after the relationship had ended, Martin stalked and harassed him. Martin, was quick to deny the claims, and his team shared that the nephew struggles with mental health issues.
The 21-year-old then obtained a temporary restraining order against the “Livin’ La Vida Loca” singer. TMZ reports Martin appeared in court today via Zoom; and while today’s hearing was supposed to extend the restraining order, it was dismissed after his nephew decided not to move forward with the case.
Martin’s legal team spoke to TMZ stating, “Just as we had anticipated, the temporary protection order was not extended by the court. The accuser confirmed to the court that his decision to dismiss the matter was his alone without any outside influence or pressure.”
The legal team continued to tell the outlet, “The request came from the accuser asking to dismiss the case. This was never anything more than a troubled individual making false allegations with absolutely nothing to substantiate them. We are glad that our client saw justice done and can now move forward with his life and career.”
