Over the summer, we introduced you to a new artist that was on our radar named Roméo Testa.
Since we last met with Roméo, the Columbia Records’ recording artist had his inspirational song “Light It Up” (Andy Duguid Remix) featured in the 7Up Anthem commercial and in ESPN’s College Football coverage. He also filmed a special performance of his song “I’m So Down” for Pandora’s Whiteboard Sessions.
Roméo was born in Costa Rica, raised in Los Angeles and released his EP, The End, earlier this year. Dan Wilson, songwriter for everyone from Dixie Chicks to Adele, executive produced the EP.
“The End EP is a good little sample platter of the influcences I have as an artist and the type of music I’m going to be making in the future for my full-length.” Roméo spills.
Roméo just wrapped up his east coast run on tour with Allen Stone and Bad Rabbits. He performed in music venues across New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Toronto and Washington DC. “Tour was amazing. I played a lot of songs that I’ve been playing out on the road, but everything was new for these crowds since I’ve never played on the east coast before,” Roméo said.
What’s next for the rising star you might ask? “Right when I get back home from tour I am going into full writing mode,” he said. “I’ve written a few songs for this record already, but I’m just wrapping it up and making sure it will be the best that it could possibly be.”
CS4U caught up with Roméo while he was in New York City last week. In our full interview (video below), the musician talks about his typical recording session, what we can expect from his upcoming album, and his trip to band camp as a pre-teen. Check out the video below!
