Sabrina Carpenter is letting her truth be known!
The singer just dropped her new album emails i can’t send today, July 15.
The 13-track album showcases Carpenter’s raw emotion as she navigates love and dealing with hate from other people.

The project’s latest single, “because i liked a boy,” is a perfect example of the vulnerability, as Carpenter is letting her fans see a side of her that they haven’t before.
Many fans are speculating the new song is about the Joshua Bassett and Olivia Rodrigo drama from last year, as all three caught themselves in a love triangle that only continued to get complicated.
Lyrics from the song include, “Fell so deeply into it/ It was all so innocent. Now I’m a homewrecker, I’m a s**t”. Here, Carpenter seems to be addressing the hate she received after the Bassett and Rodrigo drama. Carpenter continues in another line, “I’m a rebound getting’ ‘round stealin’ from the young/ Tell me who I am, guess I don’t have a choice/ All because I liked a boy”.
Bassett and Rodrigo have released their own music seemingly addressing the issue, and it looks like now Carpenter is doing the same.
The Girl Meets World star also released a brand-new music video to accompany the song; a carnival-themed visual featuring Carpenter in stunning looks as she innocently begins to sing the song. Those around her seem to be in support until about halfway through when they turn on the singer and cast her out.
The “because i liked a boy’ music video is Carpenter’s third video release for the new album.
