Scoot Teasley Spills On His Rising Country Career and New Track “Gone To Dust” (Exclusive)

If you haven’t heard the name Scoot Teasley yet, get ready to have it on repeat. The rising country star and Georgia native is making waves with his heartfelt storytelling, genre-blending sound, and undeniable charisma. His latest release, “Gone To Dust,” is officially out now, giving fans a raw, emotional anthem about love, loss, and resilience.

“It’s been almost a year since I’ve put out new music,” Teasley shares. “I’ve spent that time writing some of my favorite songs yet. ‘Gone to Dust’ is just the beginning of what’s coming, and I can’t wait for y’all to hear what I’ve been working on.”

Teasley is no stranger to delivering songs that resonate. His previous single, “This Truck Still Misses You,” gained major traction, earning a spot on Billboard’s “8 Must-Hear Country Songs” list. The track, featured on his debut EP Country Back, showcased his ability to merge traditional country roots with modern hip-hop and R&B elements. That unique blend landed him recognition as one of Nashville Briefing’s 2024 “25 Artists to Watch” and a nod as a Tidal Rising Artist.

So, what makes Teasley’s sound stand out? He credits his upbringing in Toccoa, Georgia, and his time in church for shaping his musical foundation. “Growing up, I played drums in church and sang in the kids’ choir. That really sparked my love for music,” he shares with Celeb Secrets. “As far as my sound goes, my favorite instrument is the organ, and growing up in a Southern Baptist church, you get a lot of organ. I love putting it in all my music.”

Teasley penned “Gone To Dust” alongside Nicholas Sainato and John Townsend, pulling inspiration from the highs and lows of relationships. “The theme of ‘Gone To Dust’ really is breakup — the things before and after it,” he explains. “I had the title in my notes app, brought it into the writing session with Nick and John, and asked if they thought it was cool. They were like, ‘Yeah, let’s write it,’ so we did. I think it ended up telling the story really well.”

The track’s stripped-back production and powerful lyrics showcase Teasley’s ability to connect with listeners on a deep level. “Making an EP has been one of the most fun things I’ve done so far,” he adds. “I was really particular about the order of the songs, and I feel like everything came together perfectly.”

Teasley has been taking Nashville by storm, celebrating the release of “Gone To Dust” with performances at The Basement and Whiskey Jam, as well as a slot at the Raised Rowdy showcase at Duck Blind on January 29. And if last year’s CMA Fest debut at Spotify House’s Fresh Finds Rooftop was any indication, Teasley is just getting started.

“Playing CMA Fest was so much fun. I’ve always wanted to do that, but performing at Spotify House was even crazier,” he recalls. “I got to share the green room with artists I grew up listening to — it was so surreal.”

As for what’s next in 2025? More music, more shows, and bigger stages. “This year, you can expect a lot of new music. I spent the last year writing a ton, and we’re playing shows in states I’ve never been to before. I’m super psyched about that. Be on the lookout!” Teasley says.

What’s something fans wouldn’t know about Teasley? He’s a die-hard Atlanta Braves fan — and even wrote a song for them!

“My family are all Braves fans, so getting to make a song for them was surreal,” he shares. “It started with 94.9 The Bull in Atlanta. They needed a song for the playoffs and hit me up like, ‘Yo, can you do this?’ We ended up making a track, and it got played in the stadium during the games. I was there to witness it, which was insane.”

With his ability to fuse classic country storytelling with modern influences, Scoot Teasley is carving out his own lane in country music. If “Gone To Dust” is any indication of what’s to come, 2025 is about to be a game-changer for the rising star.
