Simon Cowell’s long-running hit series The X Factor has been canceled in the U.K. after airing on Fox for 17 years.

Though it may have been a massive hit with a lot of success, the show hasn’t had a successful season since 2018. Its ratings have been declining since, and it has been a struggle to keep the show on the air.
First airing in 2004, the talent competition was initially judged by Cowell, along with Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh, and Kate Thornton.
Over the years, the show has seen many judges, including Paula Abdul, Steve Jones, Nicole Scherzinger, Kelly Rowland, Robbie Williams, Rita Ora, Mel B, and Cheryl Cole. Beyoncé even made an appearance in the series finale of season 5, joining a contestant for a duet.
The show will end its legendary run with 445 episodes and over 15 live running seasons. Cowell will be turning his attention to an upcoming ITV show that he is producing through his company Syco Entertainment. The show is called Walk The Line and is set to air just before the end of the year.
