Whether you’re a New York local or frequent visitor, you know that SKINNEY Medspa is the go-to spot for all your aesthetic needs. Everyone who’s anyone has been seen at the brand’s multiple locations across the Big Apple — including the Celeb Secrets gals — and there’s a reason why they continue to grow and expand over time.
In recent years, founders Adriana and Marisa Martino brought their business and expertise to the Sunshine State with the opening of a pop-up location inside the iconic Saks Fifth Avenue at the luxurious Bal Harbour Shops, giving South Florida a taste of what it’s like to receive one of their cutting-edge treatments.
SKINNEY’s sleek, modern space is designed to deliver results while ensuring a soothing and elegant experience. The ambiance reflects the shop’s surroundings, blending Bal Harbour’s sophisticated charm with the medspa’s commitment to innovation. Adriana and Marisa also make sure that their estheticians give their customers the same radiant, natural-looking results when providing services in face and skin rejuvenation, body contouring, and laser treatments at every location, including the pop-up’s most recent addition — injectables.

Incorporating your aesthetic beauty routine within a shopping day always seems like a good idea, so I decided to visit the team at SKINNEY during a recent trip to Miami to not only learn more about the space, but also experience their newest offering that has everyone talking.
With my demanding schedule that includes long days of travel and filming in full glam, I noticed that my skin needed a little “pick me up” to enhance my features for the full week ahead of me that’s more known as Art Basel. My BFFs at SKINNEY were able to squeeze me in for a Botox appointment to give my skin the ultimate secret weapon for a smoother complexion, less fine lines and a lifted look.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by my injector, Lauren Godwin, who took time to learn more about my skin by asking about my conditions and overall aesthetic goals. Being that Lauren is a Miami-based, board certified nurse practitioner that is specialized in integrative medicine, primary care and aesthetics, I knew I was going to be in good hands from start to finish.
“I love to treat patients with a natural and holistic approach to address all their health, wellness and beauty needs,” Lauren tells me.

Injecting in three different areas, Lauren’s approach to my targeted areas gave me a a natural eyebrow lift without changing the features on my face.
“I injected the glabella (the 11s) and the forehead,” she explains. “We also treated the crows feet around the eyes to give you a fresh, open, and smooth look to soften lines in the upper face.”
Following my treatment, I made sure to practice all of the after-care regimens to speed up the healing process and maximize my results. I made sure to not lie down on my back for four hours following my appointment and avoid alcohol for 24 hours, per Lauren’s orders. While I did have to put makeup on for a prior engagement, I made sure to use clean makeup brushes to blend my products softly and avoid heavy pressure on my face.
Later in the week, I returned to my normal makeup routine and was amazed at how a few tweaks could both level up my beauty routine and make me feel confident as ever. I was able to look at myself in the mirror — both glammed and bare faced — with delight, feeling like the fierce young woman that I am meant to be.
